One of Lancashire’s premium tourist attractions will be put under the spotlight when Paul Martin and the Flog It! team descend upon Blackpool on Friday 19th October.
Flog It! last visited Lancashire a year ago, when experts David Fletcher and James Lewis visited Preston. Now, antique cabinets are being raided again as Paul and the team head for Blackpool Tower Circus. The chances of any antique mahogany pedestal desks making an appearance are fairly remote, since owners have to get the objects to the venue under their own steam. However, the experts will happily value practically any antique that’s brought along, and since the more impressive pieces could end up being featured on national television, it might be worth the struggle of getting that piece of antique marquetry furniture onto the tram.
Like Antiques Roadshow, Flog It! gives the owners a chance to get their heirlooms (up to three items per person) valued free of charge, but with a view towards selling. Any rare or special pieces could end up being put forward for auction, which at Blackpool will take place at Lytham St Annes, on Thursday 8th November. Previously, a ceremonial cup realised £44,000, while a Shelley tea service was sold for £3,400. Everyone attending the valuation will get a complimentary ticket to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
From silver ink wells to Victorian oak partners desks , a Lancashire antique dealer has all the knowledge and expertise to help you make the perfect investment.
