Due to popular demand, a reality show star has been invited back to carry out appraisals at the Christmas Gift and Hobby Show held in the US state of Indiana next month. Running for its 64th year, the event will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion.

Dr Lori is a popular antiques specialist who has appeared on The Tonight Show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and of course, Auction Kings, a TV reality show.

The expert is considered to have a unique style of appraisal, either giving people the bad news with no holds barred or making them laugh as she tells them their treasures are worth a fortune. Appraisals will be given to those who have treasured antiques and collectibles, one per person.

During the show, Dr Lori will give advice on how to discover a bargain or negotiate, how to get more when selling items – especially at auctions – and why people shouldn’t hold a garage sale.

The TV expert has grown up with a passion for antiques, spending her childhood alongside her father, hunting for treasures at yard sales. She has achieved qualifications in history, one of which is a Ph. D. Following a period working as director of a museum and teaching at university, Dr Lori made the decision to share her knowledge with others and be an appraiser.

Although many people have a love of antiques, especially items of furniture, not many know much about the items they are buying or selling – which is why it’s important to find a reputable antiques dealer. For instance, people will discover antique chests in Preston that can be purchased for a lower price than if bought at auction.
