A host of celebrities are ready and raring to go, as they prepare themselves to go hunting for valuable antiques in aid of this year’s Children in Need. Famous household names including; Terry Wogan, Caroline Quentin and Britt Ekland, will take part in the Antiques Road Trip to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Celebrity Antiques Road Trip appears on BBC2, with the first show airing on 24th October 2011, featuring Ann Widdecombe, former Tory MP and Craig Revel Horwood from Strictly Come Dancing. The celebrities will be required to drive across the UK in a vintage car, with £400 to start them off. The stars will have to use some of their charm and intelligence to help them gain a bargain or two. Each episode will feature a different celebrity pair, who will hunt down hidden treasures before selling them at auction to the highest bidder. They will, of course, be watched throughout by the experts from the show.

All the money raised will be donated to Children in Need, so there’s expected to be a lot of competition between the stars. Other celebrities appearing will be Honor Blackman, Tony Blackburn, Phil Tufnell, Tom Conti and many more. According to the Controller Daytime, Liam Keelan it will be interesting to see how the celebrities deal with the stress while travelling across the country.

While travelling across the UK, the celebrities may come across some fine pieces of antique furniture, which could include antique dining tables in the Lancashire area.
