A number of items from the estate of Larry Hagman, the Dallas soap star who played J. R. Ewing, will be auctioned on 5th May and 12th May this year. The Period Art and Design auction will be held on 12th May, and will take place in Los Angeles.
Although the career of Larry Hagman started on the New York stage, he first achieved fame when he played the role of Major Anthony Nelson in ‘I Dream of Jeannie’. A selection of memorabilia from the show will feature in the auction. A number of items from Dallas will be auctioned, much to the delight of Dallas fans. Scripts from season seven of the soap will be auctioned, along with a belt buckle which has the letters ‘J. R.’ on it. The belt buckle was designed by Edward Bohlin, made from 10kt gold and silver, featuring rubies. The estimated value of the buckle is between $3,000 and $5,000. On 12th May, some of Hagman’s antique furniture will be auctioned, along with some unusual items like antique firemen’s helmets.
