Antique Christmas gift discovered from World War One

A rare antique cigarette case was recently bought at a Birmingham antiques fair, dating back to the First World War, with its contents perfectly preserved. The case was discovered by Duncan Philips, who attended the fair on the first day, purchasing the collectors item for £100.

East Texas town named antiques capital following recession

Gladewater, a town in East Texas is a thriving community of antiques malls and stores. However, following the recession of the 1980’s, many stores had closed, gone out of business and boarded up. The late Beth Bishop led a group of antiques dealers in a move which would eventually see the town officially recognised as “The Antique Capital of east Texas”.
