Jennifer Aniston, the well-known star of US sitcom Friends, and her partner Justin Theroux are believed to have been splashing out on antique furniture for their home in Beverley Hills. According to a source close to the couple, who was speaking to Grazia magazine, Aniston and Theroux have spent around $3 million in just a couple of weeks. The source further added that an antique chair that was reportedly used by Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers, had been purchased for around $1 million by Theroux.
The extravagant purchases could be explained by the couple’s forthcoming wedding, which may take place at their mansion in Beverley Hills. The new home cost $21 million and the happy couple are spending time searching for unusual antiques for their house. Both Aniston and Theroux are reportedly enjoying their search for antique pieces for their home. The favourite piece of Theroux is thought to be a Tompion English clock, which dates back to the 1660s. The clock is said to have been used by a member of British royalty and Theroux’s grandfather owned a clock that was very similar. According to the source, Aniston has purchased a Georgian bookcase which is worth around $300,000.
The couple have also bought contemporary pieces for their home, which includes a piece designed by Marc Newson. Although people in the UK who have a passion for antique furniture may not be able to spend millions, they will be able to find antique clocks and antique dining chairs in Lancashire , among other items.
