ITN are on a nationwide hunt for contestants to appear on a new antiques gameshow. Called Antiques House, it will be screened on the Sky Arts channel.

Whether their interest is in Georgian silverware or Victorian oak pedestal desks , Lancashire residents who are passionate and knowledgeable about antiques may be getting a call from ITN, who are expecting the show to appeal to an audience who are similarly antiques orientated. As well as contestants, the planners are also looking for dealers to join the programme, which will showcase a number of beautiful items each week. There is a lot of visual appeal in objects like antique cabinets and any Preston dealer able to lend valuable or interesting objects will not only see their stock appear live on TV, but could also benefit from the publicity this brings. ITN have said they will be happy to credit dealers or auction houses that have made a contribution to the programme and could even post their details on the channel website.

Applicants lucky enough to get a place on the show have the opportunity to win up to £1,000 worth of antiques each week, with a massive £5,000 prize in the final. There will also be a national winner, who will be crowned best amateur antiques brain in the United Kingdom. Antiques House will also feature collectors and their collections, so even if you’re just an average person from Cumbria with an antique desk full of fountain pens, you could still appear on the programme. For inspiration, why not visit your local antique dealer in Preston? They don’t just sell Victorian dining chairs !
