A recent press release from US Antique Shows announced the return of the internationally acclaimed Pier Antique Show, which will take place in New York City next month. With over 400 exhibitors, the show will return to Pier 94.
Fine arts, jewellery and antique furniture will be sold by the exhibitors, many of whom return each year. The Pier Antique Show is recognised as the largest event for antiques in New York.
According to Andrea Canady, the Fair Development Director, a selection of new dealers will be attending the show, along with many of the returning exhibitors. The antiques available will range from pieces dating back to the 18th Century up to items from the 1980s.
One of the dealers who has appeared at the event for more than 20 years, Harry Greenberger, has a theme this year called ‘April Showers Bring May Flowers’ and will feature a selection of antique umbrella stands. He states that the New York Pier Antique Show is the most exciting, with some of the main buyers gathered there.
Other sales organised by US Antique Shows include Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas. Each year, over 3,000 collectors from all over the world gather at the events to exhibit their wares to celebrities, enthusiasts and antiques collectors.
For those who won’t be able to secure a ticket to the event, which takes place on the 29th and 30th March, antiques dealers in the UK have a selection of Arts & Crafts furniture . In Cumbria, for instance, there are experts who are happy to display items to interested parties.
