A mirror which was previously owned by Gary Barlow is on display in an antiques shop at Bodnant Garden. The circular mirror has been decorated with specially selected shells, and is up for sale in the shop with a price tag of £1500. Gary Barlow, the latest judge to appear on X Factor and member of Take That, commissioned the mirror in the nineties.

SJ Orford Antiques is a family business now owned by Stephen Orford, which has existed since 2010 when his granddad Thomas Kellaher became a cabinet maker in the Liverpool area. Since that time, the family have had a number of changes to the business, although have concentrated on antiques. The last three decades have seen the business dealing in restoration of antiques for antiques shops in Liverpool, in addition to work for insurance companies. He said:

“There is always something yet to see, the story with each piece is often as important as the piece itself, whether it is a clock, a diamond, a chair or a jelly mould, they all have a tale to tell.”

Antique furniture is an attractive addition to any home, yet has a practical use. Combined with the history of an individual piece, you are likely to discover furniture, like an antique dining table from Lancashire which provides many years of use and interest.

The mirror which was salvaged from Gary Barlow’s mansion appears in the brochure which catalogues the items sold in that auction. According to the owner of the antiques shop, the mirror will enhance any home.
