A specialist publication aimed at fans of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow is due to be launched next year, with the first edition planned for April 2014.
The magazine will be published by Kelsey Media and BBC Worldwide and will feature all of the inside news from the popular show. Editors from the magazine will travel with the team to the events, speaking to the thousands of fans.
BBC Worldwide’s director of publishing, Nicholas Brett, said:
“[The publication will be a] full on, unadulterated magazine for people who are both passionate about the programme and passionate about antiques.”
He also stated that the fan base of the TV show was knowledgeable about antiques and passionate about the subject. The first Antiques Roadshow was broadcast in 1979 and is now presented by Fiona Bruce.
According to Brett, the stories which accompany the items up for valuation will make interesting reading for fans of the show. The first issue is planned for April and the price will be £3.99. Kelsey Media publishes a range of other specialist magazines, including Ships Monthly, Practical Poultry and Mini World.
Those who are passionate about antiques very often spend their time searching for new items to add to their collections. People who love antique furniture will discover a huge range of high end pieces, including Arts and Crafts furniture , in Cumbria. A specialist magazine will provide the opportunity for enthusiasts to learn about various pieces which are either valuable or have an interesting history.
