Taylor Swift the US country and western phenomenon is reportedly going shopping for antique furniture in London this week to furnish her newly acquired Nashville home, according to the media.  Antique furniture brings much character to any new home.

The 19 year old singer has been quoted saying:

“If I find some free time in London, I would like to buy furniture and accessories. I’ve heard that there are great antique shops in Portobello Road.”

Portobello Road off Notting Hill Gate, is advertised as the world’s largest antiques market by the Portobello Antiques Dealers Association, and has been a central point for any thing antique and object d’art in London for many years now and National Antiques week has just finished running from there.

However, there are other antiques hotspots throughout the rest of the country that the avid antique furniture buyer like Miss Swift may want to visit. One of the central points for buying antique furniture in the north of England is Lancashire where fairs and markets are regularly held in Clitheroe, Cleveleys, Preston, Morecambe, and at the Blackpool Winter Gardens.

Lancashire in the antique furniture respect competes quite well with the worldly aspirations of Portobello Road in London for its own share of antiques gems.
