Popular antiques TV programme Flog It! is due to be filmed in Wallasey in March this year. This is the first time that the show has been filmed in the Wirral, and the team behind the TV programme is believed to be looking forward to discovering old treasures.

The valuation day will be held at Wallasey Town Hall on 8th March, and the team invites members of the public to bring along any collectibles or treasures which they would like to be appraised by experts who appear on the show. A maximum of three items will be appraised for each person.

Following the valuation, the experts decide – together with the owner – whether their item should be auctioned. The pieces are placed at auction during the weeks following, with owners hoping to make a profit.

In previous years, some items have shocked the team and the owners by selling at auction for surprisingly large amounts. An Aboriginal Broad Shield, which had been hidden away in a wardrobe, surprised everyone when it sold at auction for £30,000. A Royal Doulton figurine, which had been purchased at a car boot sale for £2, was another rare find as it sold for £5,000. The producer of the show said that the team was looking forward to its visit to Wallasey.

For those people who would like to display their treasures, they may want to consider an antique cabinet. Preston has dealers with a selection of antique furniture for sale, usually at a lower price than an auction.
